In July 2013, Jasmin Schaitl and William “Bilwa” Costa began a collaborative duo. Since then they have been active in Austria, Germany, Belgium, USA, Mexico, Czech Republic, Finnland, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, UK, Norway, and Turkey.
The two artists direct and tour interdisciplinary group-performances, have an ongoing series of duo performances, create videoworks, photography, and installation, organize artist labs, and have interest in further research through leading workshops.
Jasmin and Bilwa put equal emphasis on: body and movement, creation of and focus on sound, visual objects and the use of materials in their performances. Often they collaborate with choreographers, dancers, theatre-makers, sound artists, and visual artists.
Their major interest is to extract, and reduce, the essence of an action; visually, sonically and thematically.
Jasmin and Bilwa work as artistic directors in interdisciplinary groups, as part of ongoing projects. The internationally touring performance project tasks is a site-relative movement, and acoustic sound structure, the series Co- focuses on concept and time-based scores.
